Azerbaijani female wrestler Zahra Karimzade won a bronze medal at the first rating tournament of 2026 held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation told "Report" about this.
Nargiz Samadova (53 kg) lost to Roksana Marta Zasina from Poland (0:10) in the qualifying stage, and to Umi Imai from Japan (1:13) in the consolation match.
Jala Aliyeva (57 kg) lost to Julia Penalber from Brazil (4:14) at the start and ended the fight early.
Zahra Karimzade (72 kg) lost to Buse Tosun from Turkey (0:2) in the 1/4 finals, but defeated Mahiro Yoshitake from Japan 4:1 in the fight for the bronze medal.
It should be noted that our national team represents our country in women's wrestling at the competition.
