Wrestler, prize-winner of World and European championships, passed away at the age of 69

Azerbaijani wrestling has suffered a loss.

Idman.biz reports that Viktor Avdyshev, a graduate of the Greco-Roman wrestling school, born in 1956 in the Goygol region, has passed away.

He died of heart failure at the age of 69.

Viktor Avdyshev was the European champion among youth (1976), a two-time bronze medalist of the World Championship (1978, 1983) and the European Championship (1983) among adults, the USSR champion (1978), and the winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR (1979).
