Islam Bazarqanov, competing in freestyle wrestling at 57 kg, reached the 1/8 final after his opponent Tambi Roland (Cameroon) was removed from the competition. In the following stages, Bazarqanov won 4:2 against Ali Momenijoujadeni (Iran) in the 1/4 final and 10:0 against Said Zazai (Afghanistan) in the semi-final, advancing to the final.
