Court medical expert Carlos Kassinelli has made a new statement in the case of legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona.
According to information provided by Sport.Biz citing RMC Sport, the expert stated that Maradona showed alarming symptoms a few days before his death.
According to Kassinelli, the Argentine player had noticeable swelling in his legs and fingers, difficulty breathing, hypertension, and tachycardia symptoms. However, the court medical expert claims that the cause of these symptoms has not been determined.
Kassinelli believes that Maradona's condition gradually worsened at least ten days after he was discharged from the hospital.
The expert also recalled the results of the medical commission, which stated that Maradona's death agony could have lasted about 12 hours. However, this assessment is being disputed in court.
Kassinelli participated in Maradona's autopsy and was also a member of the medical commission established by a court decision in 2021.
Diego Maradona died on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60. Seven medical workers have been involved in the case, and they face up to 25 years in prison. All the accused individuals deny any responsibility for the footballer's death.
