Former UFC fighter, National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee and three-time USA Greco-Roman wrestling champion Darrell Golar has died at the age of 63 after a long illness.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to Sherdog.
Golar fought only once under the UFC banner. At UFC 18 on January 8, 1999, he faced future middleweight champion Evan Tanner. The fight ended in the first round at 7:57, with Tanner winning by submission.
As a professional MMA fighter, Golar won five fights and lost six. His mixed martial arts career lasted just three years, from 1998 to 2001. In 2013, Golar suffered a severe stroke that left him paralyzed.
