The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in Serbia.
Our freestyle wrestler Vasif Baghirov, competing in the 57 kg weight category, defeated Georgian Nikoloz Botchorishvili 6:2 in the semi-final and advanced to the final.
Sabuhhi Amiraslanov, representing our country in the 79 kg weight category, defeated Georgian Giorgi Gogritchiani 4:1 and made it to the final.
Our wrestler Zafar Aliyev, competing in the 97 kg weight category, lost to Ukrainian Ivan Primachenko 2:6 in the semi-final and will wrestle for the bronze medal tomorrow.

The U-23 European Wrestling Championship has started in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

It was reported that our wrestler Zafar Aliyev, representing our country in the 97 kg weight category, defeated Armenian Gurgen Simonyan 6:2 and advanced to the semi-finals.
In addition, Vasif Baghirov, representing our country in the 57 kg weight category, defeated Frenchman Rasul Galburayev with a "fall" and qualified for the semi-finals.
Musa Agayev, competing in the 65 kg weight category, defeated his Italian opponent Mattia Bientinesi with a clear advantage (10:0) and advanced to the 1/4 finals. However, he lost to Belarusian Magomedkhan Magomedkhanov 4:7 in this stage and stopped the competition.
In the 70 kg weight category, Ramik Heybatov defeated Polish Daniel Kulchinski 9:4 and made it to the 1/4 finals.
In the 79 kg weight category, Sabuhi Amiraslanov won 11:4 over Belarusian Aleksandr Viarbitski and advanced to the next stage.
