U-20 European Championship: Two of our freestyle wrestlers reached the final

The U-20 European Wrestling Championship continues in Caorle, Italy.

Idman.biz reports that freestyle wrestlers joined the competition on the 5th day of the tournament.

Two of our wrestlers who entered the mat qualified for the semifinals. They performed successfully and earned the right to compete for gold.

Vasif Bagirov advanced to the semifinals by defeating Turkish Nurettin Kapala (pin) and Hungarian Karoli Barata (10:0) ahead of time. Vasif wrestled against Moldovan Ion Bulgaru in the semifinals. Our wrestler won with a score of 8:1 and qualified for the final. He will face Nika Tsangaladze (Georgia) in the final.

Haji Kerimov won against Italian Alessandro Nini with a score of 4:3, but lost to Georgian Lazare Gujaraidze by "pin" in the 1/4 finals.

Ismayil Rahimli defeated Hungarian Jozef Tota with a full advantage (10:0). However, he lost to Turkish Remzi Temur with a score of 0:4 in the 1/8 finals.

Muradkhan Omarov qualified for the semifinals by defeating Turkish Huseyin Kabaktas with a score of 5:2 and Armenian Narek Nikogosyan with a score of 7:3. Muradkhan faced Austrian Mukhammad Inshapiyev in the semifinals. Our wrestler took the lead with a score of 11:0 and made it to the final. His opponent will be Georgian Davit Chechelashvili.

Ravan Musayev won against Turkish Ibrahim Benekli with a score of 6:1, but lost to Georgian Konstantin Petriashvili with a score of 4:12 in the 1/4 finals.

The semifinals will start at 18:45 Baku time.
