Two Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers have reached the final of the U-20 European Championship held in Caorle, Italy.
The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation informed "Report" about this.
Vasif Baghirov (57 kg) advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Turkish Nurettin Kapala (fall) and Hungarian Karoli Barata (10:0) ahead of schedule. In the semi-final, Vasif gave the Moldovan Yon Bulguru no chance either – 8:1. Baghirov, who qualified for the final of the continental championship for the 2nd time in a row, will wrestle against Georgian Nika Zangaladze in the decisive match tomorrow.
Haji Karimov (65 kg), although he defeated Italian Alessandro Ninini with a minimal difference (4:3) in his debut, lost to Georgian Lazare Gujaraidze in the 1/4 finals by "fall".
Ismayil Rahimli (70 kg) defeated Hungarian Jozsef Tota with a full advantage (10:0), but lost to Turkish Remzi Temur in the 1/8 finals – 0:4.
Muradkhan Omarov (79 kg) advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Turkish Huseyin Kabaktas 5:2 and Armenian Narek Nikogosyan 7:3. In the semi-final, Muradkhan easily disappointed Austrian Mukhmmad Inshapiev – 11:0. Omarov will face Georgian Davit Chetchelashvili in the final tomorrow.
Ravan Musayev (97 kg) eliminated Turkish Ibrahim Benekli (6:1), but lost to Georgian Konstantin Petriashvili 4:12 in the 1/4 finals. Since his opponent reached the final, Ravan will face Hungarian Peter Shivnovsky in the consolation match tomorrow.
