U-20 European Championship: 3 Azerbaijani Wrestlers in Semifinals in Greco-Roman Wrestling

The U-20 European Wrestling Championship has started in Caorle, Italy.

Idman.biz reports that the Greco-Roman wrestlers opened the continental championship.

On the first day, 5 athletes of the Azerbaijani national team took to the mat, and 3 of them qualified for the semifinals.

Turan Dashdamirov defeated Georgian Koba Karumidze on the last point (4:4) and Armenian Levon Ghazaryan based on the first point principle (1:1) and advanced to the semifinals. Turan will wrestle against Ukrainian Nazariy Babinski in the semifinals.

Tural Ahmadov defeated Italian Emanuele Pollino with a clear superiority (8:0), Bulgarian Kristiyan Milenkov 4:0, and Hungarian Bende Olah 3:1. He will face Greek Marios Kapantais in the semifinals.

Davud Mammadov defeated Moldovan Constantin Taska with a clear superiority (11:0) and Turkish Yusuf Tosun based on the last point principle (3:3) and advanced to the semifinals. Davud will compete against Armenian Samvel Terteryan for the final.

Orkhan Hajiyev lost to Romanian Gabriel Stana 1:4 in the qualifying round.

Mazaim Mardanov lost to Austrian Leonard Junger in the 1/4 final based on the first point principle (1:1).
