2 Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers have reached the final at the U-17 European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
"Report" informs that Ravan Hasanzade (48 kg) defeated Polish Przemyslaw Mrozek 7:0 and Slovak Attila Hegedus with a full advantage (10:0), advancing to the semi-finals. Ravan was stronger than Turkish Sadık Ateşoğulları in the semi-final – 6:2. Hasanzade will face Armenian Artak Aghabekyan in the final tomorrow.
Ruslan Alizade (55 kg) defeated Slovak Ivan Jaksik with a full advantage (10:0) and Belarusian Gleb Piatrov 4:2 to qualify for the semi-finals. Ruslan showed his strength against Armenian Armen Papikyan in the semi-finals – 8:4. Alizade will wrestle Russian Makhach Abdullayev in the final.
Although Tunar Nasibov (65 kg) won the first stage against Romanian Istvan Nagy with a minimal difference (7:6), he could not cope with Ukrainian Ivan Zalisko in the 1/8 final – 1:12. Since the opponent advanced to the final, Tunar will wrestle Georgian Saba Tkemaladze in the consolation match tomorrow.
Although Ali Hajiyev (80 kg) eliminated Armenian Avet Engoyan from the competition with a score of 4:3, he could not resist British Marshal Jones in the 1/4 final – 0:10.
Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) defeated Romanian Sebastian Brailescu with a "pin" and Bulgarian Halil Sadakov 3:0 to advance to the semi-finals. Hakim lost to Georgian Murtaz Bagdavadze one step away from the final – 0:2. Tagiyev will face the winner of the Gyoergy Juhas (Hungary) – Ernests Stabins (Latvia) match in the bronze medal match tomorrow.
