Two Greco-Roman wrestlers from Azerbaijan have reached the final at the U-17 European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
"Report" informs that Greco-Roman wrestlers in the 45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg categories joined the competition today.
Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) advanced to the semi-finals with a clear victory over Ukrainian Igor Tutskanyuk (9:0) and Moldovan Vadim Tarelunga (8:0).
Our 15-year-old wrestler won a convincing victory over Russian Artyom Tkachenko in the semi-final – 9:2. Abdurrahman will wrestle against Georgian Saba Abashidze in the final tomorrow.
Elshad Abbasov (51 kg) qualified for the semi-finals with a clear victory over Polish Maciej Grynia (9:0) and Turkish Serkan Gulle (17:9). Elshad failed to beat Armenian Marat Atshmyan one step away from the final – 0:10. Abbasov will face the winner of the match Keve Kovacs (Hungary) – Iosif Stratan (Moldova) in the bronze medal match.
Ali Nazarov (60 kg) advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Ukrainian Denis Sereda 4:1 and Moldovan Vlad Duminica with a clear advantage (8:0).
Ali was stronger than Turkish Abdul Arslantas in the semi-final – 3:1. Nazarov will face Armenian Hayk Manukyan in the final.
