Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have entered their next matches at the "Muhamet Malo" ranking tournament held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
Idman.Biz reports that Rashad Mammadov, competing in the 55 kg weight category, faced Ulan Muratbek Uulu, a representative of Kyrgyzstan, in the 1/8 final stage. Our wrestler, who defeated his opponent with a score of 5:1, qualified for the 1/4 finals.
Tuncay Vazirzade, who competes in the 82 kg weight category, also made a memorable start. He made a confident impression in the match against Kazakh athlete Almir Tolebayev, winning with a score of 4:0 and qualifying for the next stage.
However, the tournament ended unsuccessfully for Muhammad Ahmadiev, who competed in the 97 kg weight category. Our wrestler, who faced Artur Sarksyan, who competed under the UWW flag in the qualifying stage, lost to his opponent with a score of 2:7 and stopped the fight.

Two of our representatives will compete in the 60 kg weight category: Nihat Mammadli will face Maxwell Hopper Black (USA), and Nihad Guluzade will face Akjol Tuyakov (Kazakhstan) in the 1/8 finals.
In the 72 kg weight category, Ruslan Nurullayev will wrestle with Sourav Rana from India, and in the 82 kg weight category, Tuncay Vazirzade will wrestle with Almir Tolebayev (Kazakhstan) in the 1/8 finals. In the 97 kg weight category, Murad Ahmadiev will start from the 1/8 finals, and Muhammad Ahmadiev will start the fight with Artur Sarksyan (UWW) in the 1/16 finals.
In the heavyweight category (+130 kg), Beka Kandelaki will face Alimkhan Sizdikov (Kazakhstan) in the 1/8 finals, and Sarkhan Mammadov will face Ali Ilyasov (UWW).
Currently, the Azerbaijani national team has six medals in its asset. Ziya Babashov (63 kg) won gold, Sakit Guliyev and Rashid Babazade won silver, and Islam Bazarganov, Jabrail Hajiyev and Arseni Djioyev won bronze medals.
