Three Greco-Roman wrestlers from our team will compete in the finals of the U-15 European Championship, while three more will fight for bronze medals;

Greco-Roman wrestlers have joined the competition at the U-15 European Wrestling Championship in Kaorle, Italy.

Idman.biz reports that 13 wrestlers from our national team are testing their strength.

Three of them have gained the chance to wrestle in the finals.

Huseyn Amrahli defeated Italian Nikola Sedikina (9:0), Belarusian Gleb Semianenka (3:1) and Armenian Vardan Melkonyan (4:2) to reach the final.

Our other representative in this weight, Khudayar Karimli, defeated Polish Kasper Bielewicz (11:0) and Bulgarian Ivan Aleksandrov (10:0), but lost to Russian Arsan Aliyev (0:9) in the 1/4 final. Khudayar will have a consolation match.

Rahib Ahmadov defeated Slovak Andrey Posvanka (10:0), Romanian Ayan Istfan (11:0) and Polish Matvey Bezruky (9:0) to qualify for the semi-finals. He lost to Russian Soltan Yusupov (2:11) on the way to the final. Rahib will wrestle for a bronze medal tomorrow.

Omar Salmanov defeated Turkish Mustafa Guven (8:0), Lithuanian Orestas Stakenas (8:0) and Russian Denis Sisikin (10:1) to reach the final.

Vakil Bashirov lost to Greek Nikolaos Zinisa by "touch" in the qualifying stage. Vakil will have a consolation match.

Huseyn Mustafazade defeated Polish Stanislav Zoltovski (7:1), Turkish Mehmet Kayan (13:4) and Polish Jakub Skiolker (5:3) to reach the semi-finals. Our wrestler, who lost to Georgian Gabriel Tavberidze (4:13) at this stage, will wrestle for a bronze medal tomorrow.

His weight teammate, Gurban Majnunov, lost to Romanian Andrey Pelea with a score of 3:4 in the 1/8 final.

Nadir Hasanov defeated Russian Adam Yashurkayev (4:3), Moldovan Maxim Deliu (9:1) and Turkish Suleyman Shahinola (7:1) to qualify for the semi-finals. He lost to Armenian Pavel Nazaryan (1:10) in the semi-final and will wrestle for a bronze medal tomorrow.

Ali Mammadov defeated French Nika Namoyev (8:0) and Georgian Daviti Mheidze (9:1), but lost to Russian Yuri Ronjin (0:7) in the 1/4 final.

74 kg
Ruslan Nuriyev gained the chance to wrestle in the final by defeating Georgian Mikheil Beridze (3:1), Turkish Mehmet Yildiz (2:0) and Russian Ashot Galoyan (3:2).

85 kg
Zohrab Safarov defeated Hungarian Zombor Simon (9:0) and Russian Alexander Karpekin (10:8), but lost to Belarusian Dmitri Kisel (UWW) by "touch" in the 1/4 final. Zohrab will have a consolation match.

Mahammad Orujov, who is in the same weight category as him, lost to Polish Lusian Popecki by "touch" in the first stage.
