Taleh Israfilov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling team, commented on the team's performance at the European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
In an interview with "Report", he emphasized that the competition went very well.
"We had some difficulties, but we coped with them. Almost 50 percent of the team won medals. We will clarify the plans for the World Championship preparation with the management. More information will be provided later," said the specialist.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers finished the U-17 European Championship with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) became European champions. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won a silver medal. Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg) took third place.
