Sardar Sardarly, who won a silver medal at the UWW (United World Wrestling) Amateur MMA World Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia, said his opponent in the final was strong.
The athlete himself told "Report" about this.
"This is a competition among amateurs. But professionals can also participate. There were some professional athletes in this competition. My opponent in the final was strong. I lost to a Russian athlete who has been a national champion many times. I saw my shortcomings and will work on them. I will try not to make the same mistakes in the next competitions."
The athlete said that he will aim for a gold medal at the World Championship to be held in Baku:
"Athletes from 11 countries were represented in my weight category. A tournament will be held in Baku in May 2026. I will aim for a gold medal in this competition as well. Then there will be another world championship in December. I was the winner of the world championship held earlier this year."
