Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Sabuhi Amiraslanov, who won a silver medal at the U-23 European Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia, will set a goal of winning the championship in the next competitions.
The athlete said this in an interview with the "Report" employee who was sent to the competition.
He assessed his path to the final and the preparation process:
"The matches on the way I started from the 1/8 finals were not so easy. Nevertheless, I was able to reach the final. I thank the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and our teachers for creating all kinds of conditions for us. Thanks to the effective training camp we spent in Asia, I was able to reach the final. In the final, it seems to me that I had to increase it a little more. I must strengthen my training and definitely set a championship goal for myself".
S.Amiraslanov shared his thoughts about the opponent in the decisive match and the reason for the defeat:
"My most difficult match was in the final. In fact, I had faced the Russian opponent during training camps before and did not have much difficulty. I just couldn't tune in for some reason this time. I believe I will perform better next time".
He highly appreciated the team's chances in the tournament:
"I think all our athletes are able to win medals. Our potential allows it. I believe we will show everything on the mat".
