Expectations from Azerbaijani female wrestlers are high.
The performance of Azerbaijani female wrestlers at the U-20 World Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria, is satisfactory.
"Report" reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation that this was stated by Rovshan Umudov, the head coach of the team consisting of female wrestlers under 20 years old.
He commented on the performance of the national team members at the World Cup:
"The World Championship is a very difficult competition. It differs greatly from the European Championship, both in terms of psychological state and the course of the competition. There are very strong rivals from Asian countries. Nevertheless, everything was going well. There were just a few tactical mistakes. For these reasons, we lost the championship. We were well prepared. We expect bigger results from Ruzanna Mammadova and Gunay Gurbanova. They must always be ready, they must prepare more. I believe that we will correct these mistakes in the future. With that, the result will be better."
It should be noted that Azerbaijani female wrestlers won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal at the World Championship.
