The "Muhamet Malo" rating tournament held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, was successfully concluded for the Azerbaijani national freestyle wrestling team.
Idman.Biz reports that our national team finished the competition with one silver and three bronze medals. The most memorable moment of the competition was the performance of our young wrestler Rashid Babazade, who competed in the 65 kg weight category.
Rashid Babazade faced Vitali Orujov, an American of Azerbaijani origin, in the semi-finals. Rashid performed a magnificent move in the last seconds of the extremely tense match and secured a ticket to the final by winning with a score of 18:15.

"My opponent in the final was a very strong athlete. However, I stepped onto the carpet with confidence. But for certain reasons, I couldn't show my wrestling. Due to both my rib injury and lack of experience, I could not achieve the desired result in the match. God willing, I have to work on these mistakes so that I can be fully prepared for the upcoming European Championship," said Babazade.
It should be noted that our wrestler lost to Indian U-23 world champion Sujeet Sujeet in the decisive match and rose to the second step of the podium.
