The Serbian Wrestling Federation has very good cooperation and friendly relations with Azerbaijan.
This was stated by the President of the Serbian Wrestling Federation, Damir Šabić, in his statement to "Report"'s employee seconded to the U-23 European Championship in Zrenjanin.
He said that he has close friendly relations with the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation:
"I am glad that you came to our country and conveyed these wonderful impressions to the world. We have very good cooperation and friendly relations with Azerbaijan. I hope you will enjoy both wrestling and your time in Zrenjanin and Serbia."
D.Šabić evaluated the medal chances of Serbian and Azerbaijani athletes:
"As for Serbian wrestlers, we have a young generation that is just joining our senior team. We do not expect great success in this competition, but we believe that there will be progress compared to the previous championship. Your athletes are, as always, at a very high level. Azerbaijani wrestlers are really excellent and I think you will achieve good success here."
The Federation President spoke about the main favorite of the tournament:
"The results so far show that the Russians are the favorites. They won the right to participate in five finals and five semi-finals in the matches held yesterday and the day before yesterday. It can be said that Russia is the best team in this tournament so far."
