Wrestlers won 5 medals on the first day of the "Zagreb Open", the first ranking tournament of the year held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Sport24.az reports that our national freestyle wrestling team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Kanan Heybatov, competing in the 70 kg weight category, won a gold medal.
Islam Bazarqanov (57) and Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg) won silver, while Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg) and Ali RahImzada (65 kg) settled for bronze medals.
Today, Elnura Mammadova (55 kg), Abubakr Abakarov and Osman Nurmagomedov (both 92 kg) will join the competition.
The "Zagreb Open" will continue until February 9. A total of 26 members of all 3 of our national teams will compete in the competition.
