The European Sumo Championship held in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary, has come to an end. Sport24.az reports that on the last day of the competition, Azerbaijani athletes competed in four weight categories.
Chingiz Samadov, competing in the senior category, won a bronze medal. Our athlete, who tested his strength in the 100 kg weight category, won a silver medal at the continental championship held last year in Loutraki, Greece.
It should be noted that 4 sumo wrestlers represented our country at the European Championship under the leadership of the Japanese Martial Arts and Culture Association. Rasul Mammadzade, who previously competed in the U-23 category at the continental championship organized for the U-21, U-23 and senior categories, rose to the second step of the podium.
