The World Wrestling Championships will begin on Saturday, September 13 in Zagreb, Croatia.
According to Idman.biz, the draw ceremony for the freestyle wrestling competition was held the day before, after which the representatives of the Azerbaijani national team learned their first opponents.
The most unsuccessful draw was for Turan Bayramov, who will face Zaurbek Sidakov, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic champion, three-time world champion, who is competing under neutral status, at the start.
All opponents of Azerbaijani wrestlers at the start of the World Championship:
57 kg – Islam Bazarganov will face Roberti Dingashvili (Georgia).
61 kg – Nuraddin Novruzov will start the tournament from the second round
65 kg – Ali Rahimzade will fight Islam Huseynov (UWW)
70 kg – Kenan Heybatov will face Amir Babak Yazdanicherati (Iran).
74 kg – Turan Bayramov will face Zaurbek Sidakov (UWW).
79 kg – Jabrail Hajiyev will wrestle Alfred Daniel (Sierra Leone)
86 kg – Arseni Cioyev will start from the second round
92 kg – Osman Nurmagomedov is also free at the start
97 kg – Mahammadkhan Mahammadov will fight Viki Viki (India)
125 kg – Giorgi Meshvildishvili will start the tournament from the second round
On the first day of the freestyle wrestling competitions, wrestlers in the 61, 70, 86 and 125 kg weight categories will take to the mat, on the second day in the 57, 74, 79 and 92 kg categories, and on the third day of the finals in the 65 and 97 kg weight categories.
