The 4th stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series took place in Katerini, Greece.
Idman.biz reports that Vusal Aliyev (80 kg) and Ibrahim Yusubov (90 kg) represented our country in the competition.
Vusal, who was in Group A, advanced to the 1/4 finals as the owner of the 2nd place. Aliyev, who made it to the final with victories over Moldovan Gabriel Oyog and Iranian Abdullah Sheykhazami, lost to Iranian Ali Gulami in the decisive match and finished the tournament with a silver medal.
Ibrahim also took place in Group A in his weight and qualified for the 1/4 finals with the maximum result. Yusubov eliminated Japanese Shuichiro Sato, but lost to Ukrainian Oleksiy Yakovchuk in the semi-final. In the match for the bronze medal, our experienced wrestler, who did not give a chance to Georgian Dato Piruzashvili, rose to the 3rd step of the podium.
It should be noted that the final stage of the World Series will be held on October 18-19 in Alexandria, Egypt. At the same competition, world champions in each weight will be determined and the beach wrestling season will come to an end.
