Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) will do his best to become a world champion.
"Report" informs that the national team member said this in a statement to the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.
He assessed the final preparation process and his chances:
"First of all, I want to prove to myself that I can be a world champion. I will do my best for this. The training camp in Turkey went well. 4-5 teams participated in the preparation process. More attention was paid to training on the carpet and we worked on mistakes. In the training camp in Baku, preference was given to test matches. We finished without injuries. Everything is fine. The guys are also in good shape. The team's morale is good. We had high-level training camps. Our wrestlers are focused on winning."
He also said that he analyzed his opponents:
"There are many strong opponents in the 92 kg category. I have analyzed their weak and strong points. I know how to beat them. We have also allocated time for work on the ground, working with legs, as well as the end of the match. This also allowed us to gain good shape. If my health allows and there are no serious injuries, I plan to move to 97 kg in the future."
It should be noted that the World Cup will be held between September 13-21.
