1 set of medals won at the World Championship is a successful result.
This was stated by Nuraddin Rajabov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team of Greco-Roman wrestlers under 20, in his statement to "Report".
He spoke about the team's performance at the U-20 World Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria:
"The competition was difficult for our wrestlers. We achieved the best result in the last three years. I consider the 1 set of medals won to be successful. I thank everyone who has worked hard in this matter. I express my gratitude to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation for creating all the conditions for us. We are seeing the result of our timely participation in training camps."
The specialist spoke about the reasons that prevented them from taking first place in the World Cup:
"In fact, we could have won the competition. Unfortunately, some biased decisions of the referees prevented us from finishing the World Championship in the first place. Overall, taking third place among 50 countries is a successful result."
It should be noted that the team took third place in the continental championship with 1 set of medals.
