Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Nicat Yeylaqaliyev (80 kg) commented on winning a bronze medal at the European Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
In an interview with "Report", the athlete said that he made some mistakes.
He hopes to show a better result at the upcoming World Championship:
"The competition was very strong. In fact, I could have reached the final and become a champion. But I lost due to my own mistake. I hope to achieve a better result at the World Championship."
It should be noted that Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers finished the U-17 European Championship with 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) became European champions. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won a silver medal. Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nicat Yeylaqaliyev (80 kg) took third place.
