Azerbaijan's first place in the team standings at the European Wrestling Championship in Tirana is the result of the great and not easy work of everyone, including coaches and the federation.
İdman.Biz reports that this was stated by Mohammad Bana, the head coach of the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling team from Albania.
"I would like to congratulate the entire Azerbaijani people on this victory. Our team became the champion, and we were expecting this result. God willing, in the future, our results will be even better in both Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling," he said.
Bana added that he was also satisfied with the results of the individual competitions:
"I am satisfied with every athlete. They say that wrestling is an individual sport, but it is not: the champion is the team. We won three bronze and two gold medals. But we would not have achieved this result if the other athletes had not scored points for the team."
