Mikayil Jabbarov congratulated our athletes

"Our national team became the European champion in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling at the European Championship held in Slovakia." Sport24.az reports that this was written by Mikayil Jabbarov, President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, on his X account.

He highly appreciated the successful performance of our wrestling teams at the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia: "Our wrestlers won 4 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals in this competition. Our national team became the European champion in the team score for the 5th time in freestyle wrestling. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) won gold, Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) silver, Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals. Jale Aliyeva (57 kg), a member of our national women's wrestling team, became the third in Europe, despite her injuries, demonstrating great determination. Our Greco-Roman wrestling team became the European champion for the 2nd time. Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won gold, Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg) silver, Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze medals. The professionalism and strong will demonstrated by our athletes once again showed that Azerbaijani wrestling is capable of making its mark in the world's largest arenas. We congratulate our wrestlers, their parents, coaches and Federation representatives!".

It should be noted that our team won 4 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals in Slovakia.
