"I only aim to conquer the highest peaks".
These words were spoken to AZERTAC by Khetag Karsanov, an Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler who won a silver medal at the U-23 World Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The athlete, competing in the 125 kg weight category, stated that the final match did not go as he wanted: "I faced Iranian Abolfazl Necad for the gold medal. My performance was not to my liking. The meeting did not go as planned. My goal has always been to achieve the highest results. I will try to achieve this in the next competitions. But I should not express dissatisfaction with the medal I won, but rather be grateful for the effort I put in."
The athlete also spoke about his future plans: "I have always expected more from myself. I came to the mat for the maximum result. Therefore, I only aim to conquer the highest peaks."
