Former UFC lightweight champion and Hall of Fame member Khabib Nurmagomedov has announced that he is preparing to organize a prestigious wrestling tournament in Abu Dhabi in November.
Idman.biz, citing Red Corner MMA, reports that four athletes will participate in each weight category in the competition.
Among them will be world champions and Olympic winners. Of particular interest is that the organizers plan to bring together Iranian Amir Azarpira, American Kyle Snyder, Kyrgyz wrestler Akhmed Tazhudinov, and also Abdulrashid Sadulaev in the 97 kg weight category.
Nurmagomedov said that work is currently underway on the tournament: "There will be four people in each weight category. I think it will be very interesting. We have already agreed on the arena with the Ministry of Sports, and there is a final meeting with the Ministry of Tourism ahead. If everything goes according to plan, the tournament will be held on November 20–21."
