Wrestling is the number one sport in Azerbaijan.
This was stated by Kamran Aliyev, who judged at the U-23 European Wrestling Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia from March 9 to 15, in an interview with "Report".
He emphasized that this sport is weak in a number of European countries:
"In my opinion, wrestling is the number one sport in Azerbaijan. Some European representatives are weak in this sport. Therefore, opponents take Azerbaijani wrestlers very seriously. Because they know that there are no weak opponents in our country. Therefore, they approach the meeting with our wrestlers more responsibly. However, I did not feel any aggression towards our athletes. There was a normal relationship."
