The change of the head coach of the Azerbaijani national Greco-Roman wrestling team has not gone unnoticed abroad.
Idman.Biz shared his views on this issue with Kamandar Madzhidov, an Azerbaijani-born former Belarusian wrestler, Olympic champion, two-time world and three-time European champion.
Kamandar Madzhidov emphasized that Alexander Tarakanov played a major role in the formation of the Azerbaijani national Greco-Roman wrestling team.
"I don't know why they parted ways with him, the leadership of your federation knows better. The European Championship in Albania in the spring will show whether this decision was right or wrong. As for the new head coach Mohammad Banaya, he is a knowledgeable specialist who has shown good results in Iran. As you know, there have always been world-class wrestlers in Iran. As for how he will show himself in Azerbaijan, we don't have an answer to this question yet," said Kamandar Madzhidov, Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling.
