Azerbaijani athlete, world and European wrestling champion among girls under 23, Jale Aliyeva, stated that she intends to achieve great success at the adult level as well.
Idman.Biz reports that the athlete shared her thoughts in a video material prepared by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation on the occasion of March 8 - International Women's Day.
Aliyeva spoke about the beginning of her career, the difficulties she faced, as well as the brightest moments in sports.
"In 2022, I became the European champion among athletes under 23. This tournament gave me great motivation. I set myself the goal of becoming a world champion. When I won the U-23 World Championship in 2024, I no longer remembered all the difficulties and injuries. At that moment, I felt like I was on cloud nine. I was very happy when the flag waved and the anthem was played," Aliyeva said.
According to Aliyeva, she does not intend to be satisfied with what she has achieved:
"I want to become the European and world champion among adults, as well as the Olympic champion. I want to be an example for the future generation. I will do my best to represent Azerbaijan adequately in the international arena."
