Jala Aliyeva's goals: World Championship, ranking tournament and Islamic Solidarity Games

Jala Aliyeva, a wrestler from our national team, answered questions from the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

Idman.biz reports that she clarified her condition regarding her injury and talked about her future goals.

- You held a training camp in Turkey with the participation of several countries. How do you assess the preparation process?

- Our training with the Turkish national team was organized at a very high level. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan also participated in the training camp. Unfortunately, due to my injury, I could not participate in the gathering until the end. I will continue treatment in Baku to recover from the injury in a short time.

- You were also injured in the semi-finals of the European Championship. Can this injury affect the upcoming competitions?

- I injured my rib in the European Championship. But I think my injury has already healed. I don't think it will seriously affect me when I step on the carpet again.

- Are you planning to participate in the last ranking tournament of the year, which will be held in Hungary next month?

- Yes, I plan to wrestle in that competition.

- You participated in the World Championship among adults for the first time in 2022 and took 5th place in your debut. You are more experienced now. Is it possible to expect a medal at the World Championship this time?

- The World Championship is a very strong competition. The best in the world participate in this championship. Of course, every athlete goes there with the desire to win a medal. I will try to do my best to be on the list of medal winners.

- Who will be the main rivals in the World Championship? Are you preparing specifically for them?

- Since wrestling is developing rapidly in many countries, I think that all the opponents we will face should be taken seriously. Preparation processes must be taken very seriously.

- You won the Islamic Solidarity Games 3 years ago. Will you be able to defend your title in the similar competition to be held in Saudi Arabia this year?

- I prepared very hard for that competition. I believed that I would win. There are still more than 4 months ahead. In order to repeat this result, it is necessary to be in an even stronger form and prepare at a high level. I believe that if I continue in this way, I will be able to bring my 2nd gold from the Islamic Solidarity Games to my homeland.
