Jala Aliyeva, the leader of the Azerbaijani women's wrestling team, U-23 world and European champion, wants to become European, world and Olympic champion among adults as well.
"Report" informs that the wrestler spoke about this in a video material prepared by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation on the occasion of March 8 - International Women's Day.
She talked about how she started her wrestling career, the difficulties she faced, her achievements and future goals.
"In 2022, I became the U-23 European champion. This competition motivated me a lot. I set a goal for myself to become a world champion. When I became the U-23 world champion in 2024, I didn't remember the hardships I went through, the injuries I received. At that moment, I felt like I was in the sky. The waving of the flag, the sounding of the anthem... I felt very happy," she noted.
J. Aliyeva stated that she does not intend to be satisfied with the results she has achieved:
"I want to become a European and world champion among adults, as well as an Olympic champion. I want to be an example for the future generation. I will do my best to represent Azerbaijan properly in the international arena."
