Today, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers will start competing at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Idman.Biz reports that Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), Ulvi Ganizade (77 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) will be the first to step onto the mat.
The Azerbaijani national 3x3 basketball team will face the Ivory Coast team in the third match of the group stage.
Para athlete Samir Nabiyev (F57) will compete in the discus throw, athletes Nazim Babayev and Rustam Mammadov in the triple jump, Lamiya Valiyeva in the 100 meters, Alham Nagiyev in the 200 meters, and Ismail Aliyev will try to succeed in the shot put.
Aynur Guliyeva and Nazrin Mehdiyeva will compete in the epee fencing.
It should be noted that the Islamic Games will end on November 21. Azerbaijan is in 9th place in the medal standings with 45 medals (5 gold, 14 silver, 26 bronze).
