The Azerbaijani national beach wrestling team plans to participate in the next four stages of the World Series and achieve good results in the end.
The head coach of the team, Oyan Nazariani, told "Report" about this.
The specialist shared his thoughts on winning one gold and one silver medal at the 2nd stage of the World Series in Porec, Croatia:
"Our 19-year-old wrestler Vusal Aliyev (80 kg), who won a bronze medal, performed very well despite his young age. He lost to Ukrainian Vasyl Mikhailov, the European champion in freestyle wrestling, in the semi-finals. That meeting also made a good impression. He could not qualify for the final due to a minor mistake. I hope that he will win results in the next tournaments and represent our country properly. There were enough strong athletes in this weight. I am glad that Vusal won a bronze medal among so many titled wrestlers."
He emphasized that Ibrahim Yusubov (90 kg), who won the gold medal, met expectations:
"We did not participate in the first stage. Therefore, we may be a little behind other teams in terms of points. But we plan to participate in all the next four stages and achieve good results in the end."
It should be noted that the 3rd stage of the World Series will be held on September 6-7 in Casablanca, Morocco.
