The unexpected parting of ways with Alexander Tarakanov, the head coach of the Greco-Roman wrestling national team of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, was not unequivocally received by the country's sports community.
The Russian specialist was one of the few foreign coaches who worked in Azerbaijan and gained respect for his work, without facing serious criticism and pressure.

"Frankly, it was a pleasure for me to work with him. He was a good person and a specialist who knew wrestling very well. True, Alexander Petrovich had a somewhat overly soft character for this sport, and this sometimes created problems for him. He chose me for the national team - he saw how I worked with children in the hall. Of course, I am very grateful to him for giving me such a chance to prove myself," said Hasan Aliyev.
