The U-23 World Championships continue in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), who turned 18 today, did not leave the national team without a medal. The promising wrestler defeated Italian Aurora Russo by "fall" and became the world's third.
Two of our freestyle wrestlers lost their chance to reach the podium. Magomed-Bashir Khaniyev (74 kg) lost to German Manuel Vagin (4:8) one step away from the medal, and Sadig Mustafazade (92 kg) lost to Shirzad Poyonov from Uzbekistan (fall) in the consolation match.
