Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) faced strong opponents at the international tournament in Warsaw dedicated to the memory of famous Polish wrestlers.
Idman.biz reports that the national team member, who won a gold medal at the competition, told "Report".
The bronze medalist of the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games also said that the tournament was well organized: "First of all, I am satisfied with my performance. The opponents were also strong."
The 30-year-old athlete spoke about his upcoming goals: "The World Championship will be held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, in September. We will prepare for that World Cup. I want to win a gold medal there too."
It should be noted that Meshvildishvili did not participate in the rating tournament held in Hungary last month due to an injury. The World Championship will be held between September 13-21.
