Farid Sadikhli, competing in the 55 kg category, won with a complete advantage (9:0) over Czech Filip Bartosik and qualified for the 1/4 finals.
In addition, Ravan Nuriyev, representing our country in the 77 kg category, lost to Belarusian Kirill Valevskiy with a score of 1:4 in the qualifying round. Said Akhundzade lost to Romanian Patrik Iulian Gordana with a score of 5:9 in the 1/8 finals in the 87 kg weight category. In the qualifying round, Farid Sadikli (55 kg) will face Czech Filip Bartosik, Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) Turkish Enes Ülkü, Ravan Nuriyev (77 kg) Belarusian Kiril Valevski, and Aykhan Mardanov (130 kg) Greek Achilles Chrisidis. Said Akhundzade (87 kg) will compete against Romanian Patrik Yulian Gordan in the 1/8 finals.
Among the women wrestlers, Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) will compete for the gold medal. She will face Russian Amina Tandelova in the decisive match.
Nargiz Samadova (53 kg) will face Turkish athlete Şevval Çayır in the bronze medal match.
