"We treat Azerbaijani wrestlers with great respect."
These words were said by Marko Stanojcic, a member of the Organizing Committee of the European Championship among wrestlers under 23, which was held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
He stated that Azerbaijan has a rich wrestling tradition.
"We know that the Azerbaijani national team has the power to win team leadership in all 3 types of wrestling. We will see this in the current competition as well. I am sure that Azerbaijan will become the European champion in at least one of the three types," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
M.Stanojcic said that he was happy that the city of Zrenjanin was hosting a major wrestling competition again after 10 years:
"This city has a great wrestling tradition. Our local club was founded in 1920, that is, wrestling has more than 100 years of history here. People involved in wrestling in Zrenjanin have great experience in organizing competitions and know what is best for the welfare of athletes. We have focused our greatest attention on the preparation of athletes, the warm-up zone and the competition field."
It should be noted that the U-23 European Championship will end on March 15.
