The national arm wrestling cup among teenagers, youth, adults, masters and veterans, dedicated to the dear memory of the martyrs, was held on August 2-3 at the Absheron Olympic Complex with the joint organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.

About 500 athletes from various cities, regions and sports societies of the republic competed in various weight categories and tested their strength. The members of the MES arm wrestling team participating in the competition managed to achieve high results. Thus, the employee of the MES Sports and Health Club, Major Rashad Kasamanli, won the gold medal by defeating all his opponents in the meetings he held in the 63 kg weight category for the right and left arms. Other members of the team – Major Rashad Hajiyev, an employee of the Sumgayit Regional Center, won gold for the left arm and silver for the right arm in the 105 kg weight category, and Sanan Shukurov, a civil service sergeant, an employee of the State Fire Protection Service, won the gold medal for the left arm in the 86 kg weight category.
The winners were awarded diplomas and medals of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
On August 5, the head of the Sports and Health Club of the MES, Colonel Fuzuli Musayev, met with the employees who achieved success in the national cup, congratulated them and wished them success in future competitions.
It should be noted that three members of the team qualified for the World Arm Wrestling Championship, which will be held in Baku in October.
