One of the main goals of Bashir Isazadeh, who holds the I-S category, is to contribute to the development and strengthening of Azerbaijani wrestling refereeing.
The representative of justice shared his thoughts on having the highest degree in wrestling.
"Gaining the I-S category was a year-end gift. I am happy to be where I wanted to be. I would like to thank the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the Referees Collegium, and my other experienced colleagues who contributed greatly to my rise to this level," he said in a statement to Report.
The referee emphasized that his first goal is to participate in the World Championship among adults, which will be held in Bahrain in 2026:
"The next goal is to participate in the Olympics. Of course, contributing to the development and strengthening of Azerbaijani wrestling refereeing is also one of the main goals."
Bashir Isazadeh also touched upon the possibility of participating in the Summer Olympic Games to be held in the USA in 2028:
"As long as there is desire, will, and determination, it is possible to achieve any goal. As a referee, I rate my chances at 50%."
