I prepared very well for the competition.
This was stated in his statement to "Report" by Kanan Heybatov (70 kg), Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler who won a gold medal at the U-23 World Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The athlete emphasized that his efforts were not in vain: "Thank God, my efforts were not wasted. I finished the U23 World Championship with a gold medal."
He believes that he will achieve even greater success next year: "God willing, next year I will prepare better and repeat the good results at the European and World Championships to be held among adults."
K.Heybatov also spoke about the final match: "It was the second time I was facing the Iranian athlete. I had faced him before in a competition held in Croatia. In this competition, although I was behind in the score, I won with a score of 9:4."
It should be noted that Kanan Heybatov became the U-23 world champion for the first time.
