Azerbaijan's U20 European Championship team announced for Greco-Roman, women's, and freestyle wrestling

The U20 European Championship will be held in Caorle, Italy, from June 30 to July 6.

Idman.biz reports that the Greco-Roman wrestlers will kick off the continental championship.

Under the leadership of head coach Nureddin Rajabov and coaches Emin Ahmadov and Turac Huseynli, Turan Dashdamirov (55 kg), Aykhan Javadov (60 kg), Tural Ahmadov (63 kg), Faraim Mustafayev (67 kg), Seymur Gasimov (72 kg), Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg), Ismayil Rzayev (97 kg), and Mazaim Mardanov (130 kg) will compete on the mat.

The baton will then be passed to the women wrestlers. Under the leadership of acting head coach Togrul Asgarov and senior coach Rovshan Umudov, Elvina Karimzade (50 kg), Gular Habibova (57 kg), Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg), and Zahra Karimzade (72 kg) will compete.

Freestyle wrestlers will demonstrate their skills in the final days of the competition. Under the leadership of head coach Arif Abdullayev and coaches Rovshan Hajiyev and Ashraf Aliyev, Vasif Bagirov (57 kg), Bashir Verdiyev (61 kg), Haji Karimov (65 kg), Ismayil Rahimli (70 kg), Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg), Muradkhan Omarov (79 kg), Mohammad Abbaszade (86 kg), Anar Jafarli (92 kg), Ravan Musayev (97 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) will strive for success.

The matches will start every day at 12:30 Baku time. Medal matches will start at 20:00.

Tural Aliyev, a Category I international referee, will ensure fairness at the European Championship.
