Azerbaijan's four-time world champion in beach wrestling, Ibrahim Yusubov (90 kg), has ended his career.
According to "Report", the athlete made a statement to journalists at a welcoming ceremony in Baku.
The wrestler said that the final stage of the World Series held in Alexandria, Egypt, was the last competition in his career:
"I became a world champion for the fourth time. The tournament was organized at a high level. We were also very well prepared. We wanted to raise our flag and play our anthem. We succeeded in this as well. I thank the leadership of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and our coaches."
I. Yusubov said the following regarding the end of his career:
"We made this decision together with the head coach. It is better to leave sports with a victory. I can work as a coach. If the Federation leadership shows confidence, we will work as a coach."
