Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) defeated Turkish world third place Fazlı Eryılmaz 6:3 in his debut, and then Rogers Mukyeda from Uganda with a full advantage (10:0) and advanced to the semi-finals. In the match with Bahraini Magomedrasul Asluyev, our compatriot, who was behind 0:5, won a courageous victory in the last minute - 7:5. In the final, Aganazar lost to Iranian Yunis Imamichogayi (0:5) and won a silver medal.
Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg) faced two-time world champion Kamran Qasempur at the start. Our representative, who defeated the titled Iranian wrestler with a score of 5:3, did not give the Algerian Benfercallah Fateh any chance - 11:0. Djioyev defeated Magomet Yevloyev from Tajikistan in the semi-finals and Khidir Saypudinov from Bahrain 5:1 in the final, and played our anthem in Riyadh.
Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) lost to Kazakh world champion Rizabek Aitmukhan (2:12) in the 1/4 final. Since the opponent advanced to the final, our representative who went to the consolation match defeated Egyptian Mohamed Salaheldin with a full advantage (18:6). In the match for the bronze medal, Magomedkhan took third place as Olympic and world champion Ahmed Tajudinov did not enter the mat.
Georgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) advanced to the next stage as his opponent was injured while leading 7:5 in the match with Uzbek Hasanboy Rakhimov, but lost to Bahraini Shamil Sharipov in a tense match with a minimal difference (6:7). The experienced national team member won a bronze medal by defeating Egyptian Abdelrahman Sheyata 5:0.
