The traditional "Champions" tournament for U20 age group has started in Antalya, Turkey. The first day of the competition was successful for the Azerbaijani national team, and our wrestlers finished the day with five medals.
Idman.Biz reports that Haji Kerimov (70 kg), one of the freestyle wrestling masters, became the champion of the tournament by defeating all his opponents. Our other representative in this type, Muhammad Ismayilov (57 kg), won a bronze medal.
Our athletes also made a memorable impression with their successful performances in Greco-Roman wrestling competitions. Roman Kerimov (67 kg) won a gold medal, giving his opponents no chance. Murad Aliyev, who competed in the same weight category, won a bronze medal, and Javidan Nehmetov (77 kg) won a silver medal.
