The U23 World Wrestling Championships will be held in Novi Sad, Serbia from October 20 to 27.
Today, the team that will participate in the last world championship of the year has been announced. The leading figures of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AGF) participated in the event held at the AGF training base. They wished the teams success in the responsible competition and called on each national team member to approach their work responsibly, to fight with determination in every meeting until the last second, regardless of the result, and to wrestle until the end.
Greco-Roman wrestlers will kick off the World Championships. Under the leadership of head coach Aleksandr Tarakanov, senior coach Rovshan Bayramov, coaches Hasan Aliyev and Kamran Mammadov, Elmir Aliyev (55 kg), Ilkin Gurbanov (60 kg), Ziya Babashov (63 kg), Farim Mustafayev (67 kg), Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg), Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), Lachin Valiyev (87 kg), Ali Guliyev (97 kg) and Aykhan Mardanov (130 kg) will participate in the World Cup.
Later, our women wrestlers will join the fight under the leadership of acting head coach Togrul Asgarov, senior coach Asgarhan Novruzov and coach Solmaz Adilova. The team includes Asmar Jankurtaran (50 kg), Elnura Mammadova (53 kg), Gultakin Shirinova (55 kg), Nargiz Samadova (57 kg), Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) and Ruzanna Mammadova (65 kg).
On the last days of the competition, freestyle wrestlers will enter the arena. Under the leadership of head coach Khetag Gazyumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, coaches Taymuraz Kokoyev and Sharif Sharifov, Muhammadali Alizada (57 kg), Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg), Aykhan Abdullazada (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), Magomed-Bashir Khaniyev (74 kg), Farid Jabbarov (79 kg), Ali Tsokayev (86 kg), Sadig Mustafazade (92 kg), Zafar Aliyev (97 kg) and Khetag Karsanov (125 kg) will try to achieve success.
Meetings will start every day at 12:00 Baku time. Matches for medals will start at 20:00.
Referee Asif Shiraliyev of I-S category, as well as referees of I category Kamran Aliyev and Habib Nurulu will protect justice at the World Championship.
